Kim Bolan

I am a Postmedia crime reporter who specializes in covering gangs and organized crime. I first got onto the crime beat by covering Canada’s worst terrorism attack – the 1985 Air India bombings – which were plotted here in B.C. Visiting the homes of victims’ families on June 23, 1985 as a rookie reporter was a life and career-altering event. I recently travelled to six countries to report on the international links of B.C. gangs for a 2024 series called Lethal Exports.

I have been at The Vancouver Sun since 1984 and previously worked for community newspapers on Vancouver Island. I have consulted on documentaries, done regular commentary for the CBC and Global and written a book on the Air India bombing.
